Fuse boys Luke Miskelly & Ittetsu join forces to put together the next EP out on Fuse London – “In Contrast”, with a remix from label boss Enzo Siragusa and DJ/producer legend Chris Lattner.
Spin side A on and “Gutterlove” starts the EP off, and in comes the usual style and sexiness we’ve come a custom to from the music at Fuse. Down to buissness, solid house grooves with delicate male vocal murmurs, cleverly edited and well produced, giving reminisance to the sort of trippy tech house vocals you’d hear at after parties in Ibiza about 5 years ago. In comes a big bass line that storms through the record with fat hi hats that set the track off. Clever break downs and no nonsense styling, this is typical, ice cool, dance floor ammo you hear down at Fuse week in, week out. Love it.
“Sunnyside Up” is on the B side, along side the remix. The track starts with loose, dry percussion sounds coming in and out followed by a groovy low end shuffle and a big string over the top - feeling very cool immediately. Away falls the break down and more low end components drop into the mix, adding to the delicate groove. More male vocal snippets come in alongside smooth pads providing some warmth to this slick piece of production. Great record; playable at pretty much any time of the day/night.
The remix of “Sunnyside Up” comes from Fuse head honcho Enzo Siragusa and house/techno hero Chris Lattner. A bit more heavy than the original, with a slippery wet bass groove that could get anyone’s head moving up and down. The wealth of experience from these two established producers is clear to hear from the off with this edit. A solid remix aimed at moving a dance floor, taking components from the original and adding a touch more attitude and a bit of a deeper vibe on it.
Overall a very solid EP from Fuse London yet again, great tracks from Luke Miskelly and Ittetstu and a very slick remix from Enzo and Mr Lattner. None of these tracks could let you down on the dancefloor.
